Looking for help with seed sorting in Madison

lettuces popping up Hello everyone.

I received the following very generous email from Mr. Emmett Schulte in Madison. He has many seeds that are available to be donated to the East Timor Seed Project but just needs someone who is willing to sort them (to eliminate most flowers and hybrids, only mailing the fruits, vegetables, and herbs), box them, and mail them to me in East Timor. I must admit it does take some time, but it is also a lot of fun and you may be able to skim a few seeds for your own personal garden as payment for your time.

If anyone is interested in helping me with this project I would be most grateful! Please let me know if you are willing to help me with this important project.

I have visited the gardens that have already received seeds that have been mailed to East Timor through this same project and can guarantee that these seeds do in fact have a large impact on many people's lives. Gardens that previously had very few things growing are beginning to fill with new fresh food, and many new gardens are being built because of this project. These fruits, vegetables, and herbs are feeding people healthy food and being sold at local markets to help sustain families in what is considered the poorest country in the world based upon it's GDP.

I will continue to send out updates on the project each time that I visit the gardens and as more seeds arrive and are distributed in East Timor. For those of you familiar with the project seeds have already been distributed in and around Laclubar to Timorese friends who have been very generous to me in the past. As more seeds arrive they will be distributed to friends in the Ainaro district for which Madison has a Sister City. Please visit the following link to photos on the Just Coffee website to see current photos of the Seed Project and the impact it is having already (http://justcoffee.coop/seedprojectphotos).

Monetary donations are also required to mail these seeds to East Timor, so if you or someone you know is interested in supporting the project, please give cash or give/mail check donations to either of the Gardeners of Eden Seed Project's sponsors in the USA:

“Colleen,

How is the Gardeners of Eden Project going? I have just received a "truckload" of seed
packets from an area seed dealer and am promised more. These are vegetable and flower
seeds returned from retailers unsold at the end of the season. I have everything from
asparagus to zucchini and many kinds of flowers. I am busy gardening now and won't get
around to sorting them until November. However, if you know of anyone locally who wopuld
have time to do the sorting, they can do so in my basement.

Sincerely,
Emmett Schulte”
