Serendipity : the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely.
It is hard to think about any part of my life without contemplating serendipity at least a bit ... My great kids and partner Alicia make a good case (like to think I had a little to do with meeting them) 
... Just Coffee seems to be much better example. We (Alicia, Bodhi and I) had moved away from Madison in 1998 with no intentions of coming back --- the fact that only a few years later we (add Japhy) would move back to Madison.... on a bit of a whim (at the same time Mike Moon and Matt Early were plotting a course for the fledgling renegade Fair Trade roaster). Over the next year I would end up meeting the right series of people, each leading me closer to an eventual partnership (co-operatorship) in the coolest, radical , FairTrade, Coop, Coffee roaster in the world.... seems to stretch the imagination a bit .. but 4 years later (add HanShan) here I am..
For many years I have an overwhelming feeling that , for whatever reason (divine, if you believe in that) , I am lucky enough to call some of the best people on the planet .... "Friend" - -- Just Coffee has only added to that list of incredible people .....
